Mark Wahlberg stars as a high-stakes gambler in his latest crime drama.
From Rise of the Planet of the Apes (2011) director Rupert Wyatt, The Gambler (2014) is an upcoming crime drama based on the 1974 film of the same name which starred James Caan.
Mark Wahlberg stars as Jim Bennett, an English professor turned risk-taking gambler who bets his own life as collateral when he borrows a substantial sum of money from a gangster. Bennett pits his creditor against the operator of a gambling ring in an effort to play both sides and come out on top and one step ahead.

Joining Wahlberg in the film are Jessica Lange, John Goodman and Brie Larson.
The Gambler is due in UK cinemas 19th December 2014.
